Cass would have preferred the sofa, preferably with Percy in his arms, or at least touching him, but he settled for the chair for now, flopping down into it and leaning forward against the table.
'I don't know where to start.' He sighed. 'I talked to her, or should I say interrogated her, because it was more or less what I was doing. She wasn't overly happy, but she did answer my questions.' Mostly because he'd forced her to, but he didn't mention that part. 'What I do know is that she does believe he is my son, she's sure of it even. I also know that Aiden has been raised by his grandmother, not her, and that this grandmother died recently. That's probably why she's shipping him off to us - without her mother to take care of him I assume she sees him as a burden. She did mention some marriage or another but I didn't exactly pay attention to what excuses she had. She had a few too many.'
He let out a puff of air, tired and annoyed. 'We'll need that legal aid though, she made no secret of her intentions of taking Aiden back eventually.'
