Cass wasn't sure he agreed, the wand was more expensive than he'd counted on and he really didn't want to make Percy pay for things like that. Any of his rich friends he wouldn't think twice about, but Percy wasn't rich.
For the first time he started to understand a bit of was Percy might of felt towards the birthday present. Not that he thought it was the same. A gift was a gift - this was different somehow. Or at least it felt like it.
He didn't say that though, because he definitely understood being in Percy's position. Instead he closed the gap between them risked a brief kiss, though he didn't put the effort he wanted to in it. He was aware of Percy's sense of propriety and would not embarrass him. Besides, rumours were probably flying after the radio show anyway, they didn't need to add to them.
'Thanks,' he said instead, smiling. Then he mentioned the price and stepped back, just stepped as the wand maker returned with the wand, safely placed in the bag. Cass smiled at the man and thanked him as he took the bag, distracting him easily with a mention of the Montagues. Seriously this man seemed to have a fetish for the family.
