She blushed and really, her complexion complemented the red so well. It was tempting to reach up to gently touch what he was sure was a slightly warmer than normal cheek, but he restrained himself. Instead, he held her gaze for as long as she would allow before she dropped her eyes, his own dark ones warm and friendly.
“That’s good. Family is often nice to have around.” Though if their interactions, at least in his presence, were any indication, they weren’t incredibly close. However, he was very fond of his family and he missed having them around. It was great to be around her children.
He didn’t know why she was nervous, if that was what it was. However, he also watched her hands as she moved the high-chair closer to the table. He sighed to himself, wishing that he could tell if enough time had passed since her lover’s death to perhaps express interest of his own, if that would even be proper of him.
