Pansy looked up when Hilly showed John into the room. She smiled, but the smile quickly morphed into a look of mild alarm as he began talking.
'Outside? But it's cold out there!' she protested, saying the first thing that came to mind. Shaking her head, she added, 'She was out a little in Russia, but I had good strong warming charms around her.'
'Sitting up? Isn't she too young for that?' she added, frowning. Dammit, they needed some decent wizarding books on raising children!
She started to say that she intended for Polly to be well-taken care of and to not have to work hard for herself, but she knew John well enough by now to know that wasn't going to get the response she expected so she shut her mouth.
'Yes, sir,' she said meekly, wondering how she always ended up in trouble when John came to see her.
