Theo could see how hard it was for her to keep together, but he kept his distance, allowing her to use the strength he knew he had. As he listened, he nodded, watching her carefully, ready to go to her if she needed him.
'You're doing good, Ver,' he said softly. 'That's all I need to know, we can go back as soon as you want. No need to stay now.'
He reached out his hand, allowing her to choose if she wanted it or not. 'I know it doesn't sound like it, but this is a good thing, Ver. It means we know where to look - and if we know where to look we'll be able to find out who did this, and find out what needs to be done.'
He didn't make mention of how he'd find out, Verity didn't need to know which methods he'd use. They wouldn't be kind ones, and the person doing this would regret it many times over before he or she lost his or her life.
