Verity didn't believe that one bit. Well, she did. She knew that Theo was usually fine. He was stronger than she was, it took a lot more to uproot him. But that didn't mean he was okay.
When he sat she knew he'd want her to sit as well but the bench looked impossibly small... She did make an honest effort to lower herself on it and just hoped she didn't look overly ridiculous. "I'm sure these children are large enough to live outside of my body now. It's not exactly fair to gang up on me two against one, is it?" she joked with a small chuckle.
"I'm sorry," she told him, taking his hand and tracing the trails for his sake rather than her own.
"What is going on?" she asked him, knowing he'd probably not tell her. It was something that bothered her, but she wouldn't force it. She just hoped that he'd trust her.
