Theo was pleased, this had gone on long enough and the Goblins' resistance was making everything difficult. He wished they could do this without them, but that on the other hand was impossible. If they blocked co-operation with Gringotts the bank would be useless.
'I have copies of the plans of course, though I'm not giving the Goblins or anyone else a full map of the vaults. I'll work something out to make sure they're happy,' he said, taking a sip of the cognac while pondering exactly what to give them.
'Security is your area more than mine, and something we should talk about, but for now there is another matter I want to raise with you.'
He proceeded without waiting for an answer, telling Bill about the curse that had hit Montague (what little he knew), explaining the situation, the need of secrecy. He knew Verity would not be pleased but that did not matter, as Bill was a curse-breaker and would be able to offer insight that others would not be able to. Perhaps he could even break the curse.
Once he was finished, Bill nodded, commented and asked to see the victim. Theo smiled at him as he rose to show him the way. Even if this did not work out tonight they would be at least one step closer to the answer. Once they were finished with Montague they could return to talk about security. Then they could start moving on the Bank.
