She smiled at him and patted his knee, "you've grown quite a bit, I think we had better get you a new one. I could use a new suit too so that the babies will fit into it," she smirked and winked. Besides, wearing a bikini with her son while covered in stretch marks- ouch. "We can go tomorrow to buy suits. Do you know how to swim?"
Verity didn't miss the frown on his face although his words were contrary. She smiled warmly at him, "you're right, it would be quite polite- but we mustn't ask for what we don't want or we just might get it. It'll be alright, darling."
The offer to hold his kitten was too sweet and although it was awkward she accepted the cat to humor him (Bally sitting at her feet didn't seem quite so amused.) "Thank you, Marlowe. I don't want you to spend time worrying about me and Mister Monty though." She hugged the kitten, giving him a little scratch behind the ears before handing him back to her son.
"Thank you for your consieration," she said politely. She didn't want to mention that Monty might not get better anywhere and there wasn't anything in particular about Nott Manor that would help his recovery.
