Neville's fingers were tingling, like after a battle or fight, the shock sets in when things grow calm.
Alice was holding the picture close to her heart, just like she held the memories of her baby boy when she didn't have the picture. Neville's heart swelled, finally knowing how much his mother loved him, even though it was a sentiment from years ago... he was loved by his mother at some point in time.
He held back the tears that were welling up, taking his hand back after Alice was satisfied with the proof that he was a Longbottom. Neville smiled at her question, telling Alice the truth yet again. "He helps ... so much Alice. Probably more than Neville knows, but he does."
Neville looked up at the clock and saw that it was getting on in the afternoon and needed to get back, but he didn't want to leave Alice so hopeless. He was glad that Meredith was so fond of her and didn't wander very far during their visits. She was behind them now, obviously watching the quiet moment. "Alice... you keep that photo and look at it whenever you'd like. I have to go... but, let Meredith know if you need to see me, and I'll be here." Neville smiled gently and watched Alice still gazing at the photo he'd given her.
