"True," Rodolphus said with a chuckle as he took the baby into his arms. Nathaniel opened his eyes for a moment as the exchange took place then closed them again with a tiny whimper.
Rodolphus looked down at his godson's son, his face calm and almost indulgent even as his thoughts raced. This... this was something he would have soon. He was determined on that score. A child... hopefully more than one... of his and Bella's bloodlines. Such a child would be magnificent. A true heir to both families, brought up to be the scion of the Lestranges. A son... of course a son, though he would welcome a daughter as well. His heir need not be a male.
"I find I do envy you this," he said, his voice still calm. He was tempted to tell Theodore of his plans but once again decided not to. There was no guarantee of success and until he was sure that there would be, it would remain a secret.
