Verity looked at him. "Stop hiding things from me. I deserve to know what you know," she said firmly.
"You just told me that I need to do things other than sit here and now you're trying to shut me out." Her frustration and anger were evident in her tone, though it was kept as polite as she could manage. She was upset that he was trying to manipulate her as though she were a weak child. She could think for herself and didn't appreciate his attitude.
