Cass scrunched up his face at the name, shaking his head even as he laughed. 'Thank fuck that men don't marry,' he said with a shudder. 'I like my own last name quite fine, thank you.'
'And I'm all for pretending the past didn't happen,' he added with a smirk. 'Not that it wasn't a very fun past, but yeah, it's something I don't think we should talk about too much, though Percy seemed oddly fine with it. I honestly thought he'd react a lot worse.'
He scratched his neck as Ginny admitted to not know what was going on, and he wondered why Percy hadn't told her. 'My mum was kidnapped by Rodolphus,' he then said. 'I decided to...distance myself from Percy, to keep him out of anything. I didn't want him compromised because I was. Stupid, I know, but well Percy and mum are sort of my weak spots, I didn't think it through past protecting them, which of course I could never really do anyway.' He gave her a small smile. 'At least I learned how miserable I am without Percy, right? I'm not stupid enough to make the same mistake twice - and you'll have to get in line behind Morag if I hurt him I think,' he added with a laugh.
'It seems Percy has a lot of people willing to protect him should I hurt him. Say who will protect me if he hurts me?' he teased, winking.
'And yeah, they tend to get under your skin, don't they? Scary stuff, that.'
