Theo watched, carefully, trying to decipher the act. Did he know and was pretending not to? Did he really not know? Why was he so quick to blame the Minister? (The latter of which Theo thought nothing of, Montague had been one of her "pets" at Hogwarts, she had no reason.)
He couldn't be sure, as Rodolphus was just a little to uninterested, though he hadn't gone and ordered him to continue either. He decided going out on a limb was necessary.
'I thought for sure you heard by now,' he said, taking a sip. 'Someone attacked him, cursed him with Dark Magic powerful enough that the healers don't know anything about it. He is in a coma at present. I doubt the Minister has anything to do with it at all,' he added. Honestly, even if she had had reason she wasn't nearly skilled enough.
He took another sip of cognac, once more wondering if Rodolphus was right. Was it Montague's personal enemies they were supposed to look into? Who then were they? And which of them knew this level of Dark Arts? It had to be a Death Eater, he was sure of that. He didn't add that yet though, wasn't even sure if he would.
