By ten past four Cass was more or less climbing the walls (or would be if he could). It was silly, he knew, Adrian was Adrian and he had probably never been on time for anything in his life.
That still didn't make Cass relax one bit, though.
By the time he (finally) heard the knock, he was already in a chair much closer to the door (and easier to get up from) than the sofa. However, that didn't mean that he could move fast, and he knew it would take a few minutes before he could open the door. It probably would have been convenient if Adrian could have let himself in - only there was no way Percy's wards would let him.
Cass smiled, wondering how he'd react if he called out that piece of information. Then again, one look inside and Adrian should be able to tell he wasn't living here alone. A dog and a cat and meticulous order? Not really his normal style.
Getting to the door he opened, smiling at Adrian. 'No you can't, there is no way the wards would let you,' he said, opening the door wider while trying to look like he wasn't leaning on it for support. 'Come on in, the livingroom is that way,' he said, gesturing in the direction of the door just as Plato came running out to see who the new person was.
'Plato, let him come inside before you greet him,' Cass said softly, closing the door behind Adrian. 'You can go ahead if you want,' he said. I'll need a few minutes to get there.'
