"Because I don't want to shag anybody else and he doesn't either?" Adrian guessed, smiling in Stephen's direction and watching him for a long moment. "Plus we're both ridiculously vain and possessive. If we weren't monogamous, we'd probably drive each other insane being suspicious all of the time."
He snorted. "I'd rather be smart than charge in and try and duel him. Have we not got any Gryffindors you want to dispose of? I hear they're rather good at charging in and then thinking," he said, impish smile on his lips. "And don't get Stephen involved... The last thing I want is him plotting when our baby is on the way."
Adrian nodded, thinking it over. "Something's going to have to be done. We managed to find a quick way to leave but with a screaming infant, we'd give ourselves away in an instant plus I don't think Stephen will let me carry the baby on a broom," he said, frowning a little. He really didn't like that they had to live at Hogwarts but he wouldn't let Stephen live there alone and he'd promised Stephen could have at least another year working as he loved it so much. "Good, really good. The baby barely kicks so it makes me think it's inherited the lazy Slytherin gene. She says they're both doing really well and Stephen grins for the entire day when we get home."
Adrian bit his lip. "Is that the best idea? If Rodolphus didn't authorize the attack then it'll look a bit too much like he's fishing for answers if Theo reports it."
