Stephen snorted. "Yeah, it didn't work with my father. Everyone got up, even the kids when they were old enough, which means right about age five." It had driven Evelyn mad.
He nodded. "It's difficult not to hear thing when I live with Adrian. I'd have to be deaf not to know what's going on, although I have to admit that I don't usually pay attention unless it affect me or my family. I don't find people's business that interesting."
He shrugged. "I never said that you agree with what he does, and I don't need to know what you heard for that matter. However, the wrong information, even if divulged with the best intention, could put an hypothetical child at risk. I'm friendly; I'm not stupid. I also don't have to mince words. Anyone tries to hurt my child, and I will kill them with my bare hands, but only after I destroy everyone they care for. It's amazing what Ravenclaws can do when they put their minds to it."
