She grinned cheekily at him, and gave him a smacking kiss on the cheek. "Who do you think taught me that particular birthday tradition?" she asked, grinning.
Her smile sobered a bit, and she shrugged. "Well enough, I guess," she said. She didn't want to talk about Neville's mother, that was his business to share with whom he'd like.
