John smiled. "Of course they know. They can sense you being upset. Children are perceptive that way, which is why you need to stay calm. Your husband is perfectly safe." At least for now, but he had time to figure out what was wrong.
"No, dear, you don't suppose. You should know, because those two only have you to protect them. You take good care of them, and I'll worry about your husband," he said smiling, just before casting a spell on her. Satisfied that there were no contraction, he put the wand away. "Everything is all right, but they truly sense what you are feeling. Getting upset could set off labour. If you feel too nervous, take a mild calming potion. I don't have any with me, but I'm sure you can find it at the Bat's Wings."
John went to his bag and took out two vials. "These will keep him nourished for now. You can give him one now, one in eight hours. Make sure to stock on them." He turned to the boy. "If anything changes, let me know the minute it happens."
