He was always uncomfortable with tears, but that didn't stop him from holding her as she cried, listening to her fears, rubbing her back to sooth her.
'Ver, it will be OK,' he promised her calmly. 'We'll solve this and it won't be like last time,' he said though he was still rather grateful for last time. Last time had gotten her out of a potentially disastrous situation after all.
And truth was, he wasn't even lying. This time was different, a single look at Montague could confirm that. He wasn't beaten, or seemed injured a part from a few scrapes. In fact looking at him he looked as if he was just sleeping.
'We'll get him the very best of healers, Ver,' he assured her. 'None of those horrible ones they have at the Shack. I'll arrange for someone I promise. You won't have to do a thing. Do you want to come live at the Manor?' he asked softly. 'We'll arrange for Montague to have a room and you can walk in the rose garden as much as you want.'
