That was Justin's main concern as well. As much as he loved her and wished he could take this all away for her, Millicent was an adult and had to make her own decisions. Ella was just a small child, and he hated to contemplate what watching her mother succumb to addiction would do to her.
He listened carefully as Antonin spoke. It would be hard, he knew, but he took his advice seriously. He wasn't sure whether it would be best if he let Antonin go alone or if he should go along so she would know that he hadn't abandoned to all this. He knew she probably felt betrayed already, and his absence might look like a further betrayal.
At his last question, Justin looked up and nodded. "Yes, I don't have any other choice. She's already been through more a child of her age should ever have to go through. I couldn't let her stay in this situation."
He shoved his fingers through his hair and finished the rest of his drink. "I'm ready when you are. I won't stop you, no matter what you do." A lot of trust to put in a man he'd never really seen eye-to-eye with, but there it was. "And I won't cater to her."
