RP: Happy Birthday! Date: 31 July 2006 Characters: Pansy Parkinson, Harry Potter, Polly Parkinson, mentions of Ella Bulstrode Location: 212 Cicero Lane Private/Public: Private Rating: PG Warnings: none Summary: It's the first birthday Pansy has gotten to plan for Harry. Made a little difficult by being a secret, so no big party. And more difficult by knowing Harry didn't want a lot of fuss. Which Pansy ignored.
Pansy had taken time to consider what she wanted to do for Harry's birthday. She could, of course, have gotten him new robes, but that seemed to lack thought as a gift. Plus, she did that whenever she could so it didn't seem special enough. And, in her opinion, he already had enough Muggle clothes to last him awhile.
One thing she'd settled on fairly quickly. She wasn't sure it was a big interest of his, but she remembered hearing it mentioned when they were in school so she took a chance.
Then it came to her what she wanted to do. And it sent the perfect message, as well....subtle but there if he wanted to think it through. The problem was, she couldn't do some of it herself, and Harry didn't leave the house very often. Ella's stay had proved to be godsent. Pansy had suggested that he show Ella a little about Quidditch and insisted that the back garden wasn't large enough. She suggested the Hogwarts Quidditch pitch since school wasn't in session. When Harry brought up the possibility of Ella being seen on the way, Pansy had smiled and reminded him that there was a charm for that. So Pansy had had an afternoon to herself.
Actually, Pansy had had an afternoon with a couple of workmen that Justin had suggested. Once they were done, she and Hilly and Wicksy had disguised the work so that Harry wouldn't notice. Still, it was a challenge to keep him away from the areas until his birthday.
Knowing she wouldn't make it up before, or really any time near, Harry, Pansy arranged for all his breakfast favourites to be served. Not that she had to do much....Hilly was already on top of that.
When Pansy got up, she took a little extra time to make herself look pretty, and went in search of Polly. She'd been afraid that the baby was with Harry, but he was apparently having some time to himself. The girls were playing in the playroom. Pansy borrowed Polly and took her up to change her clothes. When she was done, Polly wore a brand new little blue t-shirt with a picture of a golden snitch on the front.
Pansy picked up a brightly wrapped package that had been in Polly's closet and went to look for Harry.
