Cass smiled, shaking his head. 'You're not pathetic, not even close,' he said softly. 'Or if you are then I'm just as pathetic.'
He looked at Percy with utter affection. 'I'd love to say that I don't know what I'd do without you, but I only know far too well. I was mess. A complete and utter mess. I swear I wouldn't even have eaten if Susan hadn't threatened to hex me for refusing. And in all of that I still knew you were alive, safe.'
He smiled again. 'I do get it Percy, I do.'
'And I'll let you go,' he added, smirking, reluctantly letting go of him.
