Cass frowned, not at all pleased. 'She couldn't find anyone better?' he asked. 'I'm not sure, Umbridge is bad, but at least she's openly bad. If Malfoy wanted to screw people over he'd make sure no one realised he was doing it until it was too late to do anything about it.'
He looked at Percy, running his hand through his hair. 'I trust you, and your judgement, but to be honest I wish there was another candidate, because this creeps me out.'
The fact that he was close to Professor Snape did not calm him at all. He didn't doubt that Malfoy could rationalise a different treatment of him and everyone else who weren't pureblood. He spent too much time in the Slytherin common room not to know how good Slytherins were at rationalising things that made little sense.
