Date: 28 July 2006 Characters: Orla Quirke and Minister Umbridge Location: Umbridge's office Private/Public: Private Rating: PG Warnings: None Summary: As requested, Orla comes down for a meeting.
Orla very promptly made her way from the Shack to Minister Umbridge's office. She'd changed before leaving the office, her work robes were splattered and covered with blood and the other bodily fluids one accumulated after working with the sick and injured for a time. Her new dress was purple and she wore heels with a few gold bracelets clanging around her wrists. She was not at her most formal, but she granted Minister Umbridge no more show of formality than she granted the man who had her true loyalties, Rodolphus Lestrange. She would show up on time and be cooperative (to a point) and polite. No more, no less.
She walked through the village humming to herself until she reached the correct building. As she pulled open the door she went over her cover story one final time. It wasn't completely necessary, for she'd used it so often, but it never hurt to be prepared. That her parents had died refusing to support the Death Eaters was public knowledge, but it was also public that she'd been her Uncle Joseph's ward after their death. He was a well known supporter of Voldemort and had been on many ministry lists. During meetings such as these Orla had always been quick to remind people that she would be silly to support the people who had killed her parents. She tried to minimize her uncle's role in her life and certainly never spoke of her fondness for Rodolphus— whom she would have to write to after the conclusion of this meeting.
After asking a staffer where she could find the Minister's office she was instructed to wait while someone went to fetch her. Orla sat down in one of the chairs. Her skirt spread out and she folded her hands in her lap, looking the very pinnacle of pureblooded nobility she perceived herself to be.
