"Really?" Percy asked putting as much surprise as he could in his voice. "I must say that no one actually believes that, Cass. I'm also very sure that McLaggen was ready to have a heart attack when I said you were involved with me."
Percy smiled against Cass's lips, not sure of what had provoked that reaction, but not about to question it. The smile was wiped out with three simple words. "You what? You don't have to say it, Cass. It's all right."
He was making a bigger arse of himself, but he really didn't want Cass to feel like he had to say something because of the circumstances. It was much easier to concentrate on the other question. "Yes, I was there until the wee hours, partying with Malfoy and Snape... or I was there until I got called. There was a werewolf attack at the Apparition point. Three Aurors are dead, one injured, and I worked... well until it was time to pick you up."
