Morag had fretted about this party more than she had ever even thought about any other in the past. She'd decided to go, and then decided to stay home, back and forth until she'd given herself a headache. The uncustomary indecision, not to mention the headache, had made her crabbier than usual.
She didn't want to go. But it wasn't that she didn't feel safe. They'd worked out her issues with the wand, and she was armed in other ways, as well. Plus, Antonin wouldn't let anything happen to her, she knew.
No, she was more worried about what might happen that was out of her control. She knew what she'd seen that afternoon. But then everyone and everything said it was absolutely out of the question. Heather had told her it was completely impossible and gone on to pat her on the arm, adding that sometimes expectant mothers had fanciful worries about their unborn children, only to discover that they were upsetting themselves over nothing.
Blonde or not, Morag thought it might be time to check out the other healers around town. Fanciful worries, indeed!
But she and Antonin knew Draco, and more importantly, they knew Draco had an eye to the future. He had apirations. And Morag was hoping he might be nudged into deciding the future didn't need to be so far away.
And she wanted both herself and Antonin on good terms with Draco. And to be seen supporting him because she was known for her ties to Tiberius. And that meant they needed to attend Draco's party.
She just hoped Draco didn't have an interest in shopping for maternity clothes. It had been bad enough with Gabrielle, but now her ankles wanted to swell if she stood for too long, and her lower back got tired. And it would be a really bad thing if another episode like yesterday were to occur.
Having made the decision to attend, she had had to find something to wear. That had been the easier decision. Lots of people indoors when she was feeling crabby....she needed something cool and comfortable. She settled on a simple set of sapphire blue robes. The end result sort of highlighted the pregnancy but then, these days, everything did so why fuss about it? The dress hid her weapons so she was happy.
She did have to use a charm for....support....but she'd gotten a little chesty since she'd gotten pregnant. It was a necessary evil. Very necessary.
Of course, she changed her mind three more times about attending. She suspected that Antonin had decided that they were going to go and had quit listening to her. She was pretty sure she had ended on not going, last time checked.
So there they were, at Malfoy Manor. She just hoped Draco's elves were quick with their fire suppression spells. Actually just quick at averting catastrophe, in general.
