Pansy was beginning to wonder if she could get away with breaking the door down because she wasn't getting an answer and she knew Millicent had to be there. But finally, she heard some shuffling inside and then the door finally opened.
She wasn't prepared for the wand pointing at her, but she supposed she deserved it. She was relieved when it wavered away, though.
Millicent opened the door a little more, but not enough for her to come inside and that surprised Pansy.
'No,' Pansy said, knowing she would automatically have gone the same place in her mind. 'Ella is playing with Polly and is quite well supervised and safe. I came to see you because, try though I might, I've not been very successful at getting you to talk to me lately,' she said pointedly.
Millicent looked awful, and it was more than the just the less than fashionable robes, which Pansy didn't understand at all until she remembered that the last time she'd given Millicent robes had been months and months ago. She would have to fix that. And maybe pick something a little more classic that would stay in style longer than a season.
Although it wasn't just the style of the robes. They didn't look well cared for, at all, and Millicent had apparently been sleeping in them. For days, from the appearance. Although, from the circles and lines on her face, she couldn't have been sleeping much, which contradicted what Ella had said completely.
Something was going on here, Pansy thought, narrowing her eyes.
'Aren't you going to invite me in?' she demanded sweetly.
