Pansy's mouth quirked at the little girl's firm response as she tried not to laugh. Licking her lips to gain time, she finally said, 'Yes, well....grown-ups know how attractive babies are, and they don't want little boys and little girls deciding that they want one because babies are so cute. Your mummy will explain it all when you're older,' she promised.
Thankfully, the answer seemed to satisfy Ella because she was soon happily eating another biscuit, her feet swinging back and forth under the chair. Pansy breathed a silent sigh of relief.
Listening to Ella's description did nothing to make Pansy feel better about Millicent. 'You can't wake her up?' she repeated in surprise. No matter how tired she was, the slightest whimper from Polly had her awake in a flash. That Ella was playing outside without supervision after what had happened to Millicent in that same flat a few months ago bothered Pansy, but the idea that she couldn't wake her mother if she actually tried quite frankly scared the crap out of her!
'No, honey, I won't tell,' she promised absently, reminding herself to make sure their wands were put away safely. Or.... She'd have to ask Harry about some charm to keep Polly from picking one up and using it accidentally. It wasn't practical to actually put it away, and Polly had already discovered pockets. Surely he had a friend who knew something....
Maybe she should back to Millicent's while Ella was playing with Polly and Harry?
