Dennis did have to laugh at Luna's words. "You know, that's the funniest thing I've heard in a long time, Luna." A semblance of his former wide smile was on his face. There was genuine mirth there, even if he was mostly putting on an innocent act. "But if everyone hates her so much, why isn't anyone doing anything about it?"
"You know, even if someone asked me to bite her, I don't think I could." He scrunched up his face in disgust. "She probably would taste like a toad."
But now that he'd planted the seed of the idea, he grinned at her. "Oh, come on now. You'd only slow me down if I ran all the way. I'm sure you could apparate me, or we could get a portkey?" He gave her that hopeful puppy dog look he knew used to work on all the girls, once upon a time.
"We should go tonight, or if not, next weekend." He was going to get her to come out with him now, and he had an eternity to get her to agree.
He heard the self-deprecation in her voice, and shook his head. She truly was gullible, but she was one of those do-gooder kind hearted people - the sort he usually liked to prey on. Plus she was very, very pretty.
"Don't sell yourself short, Luna," he said as he let his hand cover hers as it stirred. Her hands were warm from the heat, and he could almost feel it creeping into his own skin. "Lots more people are more loony than you are." He tried to look into her eyes.
"You're far too pretty to keep yourself cooped up here making potions and talking to a neurotic vampire every night. Now, will I have to drag you kicking and screaming to the club, or will you come willingly?"
