Dennis woke suddenly once the last rays of the sun fell below the horizon. He knew instantly where he was. The slow climb to wakefulness he used to experience when he was mortal was gone now that he was a creature of the night.
Taking a deep breath, he could smell the fresh food that lay in wait around him. But he was playing this very, very carefully. Luna was the most gullible woman on the planet, and he wasn't going to look this gift horse in the mouth just yet.
Besides, he was having fun playing on Luna's innocence. He talked with her for a few hours, pretended the angst that he could only laugh about, and then when she headed for bed, he'd head out and get his fill of Muggles.
Coming up the stairs, he rearranged his features into something a little more... innocent, giving Luna a coy smile as he came up. "Morning," he winked, heading over to where she worked on potions. "What fun did I miss today?"
