He found her playful mood most catching, and he chuckled softly. It seemed that for just a while, in her presence, the very tear in his soul from the darkness could mend itself, and he could feel whole again.
She said nothing about his having been to both Hogwarts and Durmstrang, but he guessed that since she had been a Beauxbatons girl, her opinions were similar to many from her almer mata. He'd actually enjoyed Durmstrang more, but then, he had been the one with the fascination for dark magic. Still, he wasn't going to defend something from the past that he had no control over. His father had changed schools for him, and at the time, he'd been only too happy.
His mouth quirked playfully. "Of course you weren't. Boys usually were prats. I can't say I was totally innocent, either. But luckily, I grew up. I'm not sure about Draco, though."
"Gabrielle, champion of those who have no defenders!" He nodded approvingly. "The world needs more of that."
She seemed far more relaxed at the talk of music, and he seemed to have struck her passion once again. "Live music is always good. Have you thought about singing for crowds?" She would always be a drawcard. Her voice was indescribably beautiful, and people would pay good money to hear her live.
As he watched the dancers, and their food getting cold, he saw their own meals arrive. "Well then, let's eat ours, and then we can enjoy the music, and I can sweep you off your feet. I'm a fine dancer." He wasn't lying. His dancing was perfect, as Eva would not hear of a son who couldn't dance.
