Adrian wanted to hide his face because sometimes Cormac really was an idiot. "He's an idiot," he said to Stephen softly. "A good guy but yeah, generally an idiot. You're not a whore or low or anything and he was wrong to say that to you. You're my husband and I think he knows that now. If he doesn't then he will shortly."
He smiled, remembering that and how thin Stephen had looked, nothing compared to now. He hadn't thought about the difference in quite a while but it made him hold onto him a little tighter. "Yeah, well, somebody had to feed you, Mr. Skin and Bones. Besides, you shared my meal with Sophia," he reminded him.
"I know I won't," he said, wrapping himself around Stephen until they were tangled up in each other. "I'm just saying that there really... I can't think of much that I'd straight up say no to. Not with you. I don't love or trust anybody as much as you, I never have had."
Adrian looked worried for a second. "You- I mean, you don't have to take me away. We can stay here," he said, backtracking a little. He knew Stephen was touchy about using his money to pay for things and he didn't want him to feel like he needed to go away. "Five days. Okay, I won't pry."
