Stephen shrugged. "You weren't an Auror. I had no way of knowing your schedule, not that you had one, and yes I know that's it's almost a year. You send me food for Valentine's Day and had a coronary when I said it or wrote it." He hadn't even been there, and could picture Adrian's reaction.
He shifted so he could hold Adrian better, almost covering him with his body. "You'll never have to do that. I'll never ask you to do something that would take so much from you. Never."
He kissed Adrian softly. "I love you too, and I'll take you somewhere. I hadn't planned to, but I can fit it in my plans. You still won't find out, so don't bother. You only have to wait until Friday. It's five days, baby. It's not that long."
