'Oh, darling, I was completely out of my depths!' she admitted, laughing. 'I was out at the estate with no one but the elves and Gilderoy. And he was trying so hard to placate my moods that it got to where I couldn't stand to see him because he'd gotten so wishy washy, and my magic was going and he, of course, had none to start with, which was just another annoyance to me, at that point. And I didn't know if I wanted to be pregnant and I was getting so big....' She shook her head. 'And then he was killed and I fell, and it all went from bad to worse. By then I had made a connection with Polly, and I was so afraid for her because I was having contractions way too early! The whole experience was just too awful for words!' she confessed.
Knowing that his mother had been too strict made sense to Pansy, and she nodded. 'Ahhhh,' she murmured. That explained it.
Pansy smiled proudly. 'What about her? She's walking and talking, although she only says two words right now, neither of them referring to me. She likes me to pay attention to her and cuddle her when she's tired, but if Harry's in the room, I could be on fire for all the notice she'll pay, she's so besotted with him! But she's my little princess and I adore her!'
