Miles had the answers to Lettie's questions down to an almost fine art. "The healers brought you back here because you do live here - in England. You have a family and a castle, and lots of friends." He knew that this could take a while, so he ordered the elf to bring some more tea. If not for Lettie, then at least for him.
This was the first time she had remembered and actually talked about Massimo, and he was starting to piece together what was going on. He knew Cass was also putting it all together as he stayed quietly in the background.
"And no darling, I've never met Massimo. You left here a few months before that. I suspect that's when you met Massimo." He had worked out that when Lettie remembered things herself, she seemed far calmer. "I know it hurts, darling. But I have whatever potions you need, you only have to ask."
When she asked why, he nodded back to the notebook. "You should write it all down. You seem to remember new bits and pieces every time, and even if you forgot who we were, little pieces are coming back. He gave her an encouraging look, hoping she would understand that through her frustration, there was some hope.
"Do you remember talking to Massimo at all that day you were sunbathing?"
