He gave her a sad smile. 'As much as I wished I could, no I couldn't,' he said. 'But I might help you in other ways, you know?' he said. 'I don't know if Miles told you that I work as an Auror. If you wanted to file a report I could find the man who did this to you and make sure he doesn't do it again to anyone else,' he said. 'Perhaps if he were to tell the healers what spell he used they'd even be able to counter it.'
He smiled. 'If you're not comfortable with it, I won't push, but think about it. It could be the solution you're looking for. After all, you should have some perks out of having friends with something so mundane and boring as a job,' he said with a wink, even if he never would think of his job as either mundane or boring.
When she called him a flatterer, he chuckled. 'Of course I am. How can I not be when you're right here next to me. You're simply to tempting for me to turn it of, beautiful.' He moved his hand, letting it stroke her arm before reaching her hand. He lifted it to his lips and gave it a peck.
'You still like living dangerously, I see,' he teased when she mentioned pool. 'Playing pool - with me? Tsk, tsk, tsk...I don't think you stand a chance,' he said challengingly. Of course he had the edge of growing up in a world where pool tables were common. Even if wizards played, it was never to the extent the Muggles did.
He smirked. 'Stakes..?' he gave her a look, then leaned in. 'I know what I would normally play you for, but something tells me to put boundaries on this since you don't really know me - so how about a date?'
