Re: Warnings: Blood, torture, implied pedophilia
Cormac had been able to apprehend a handful of Death Eaters after sending Cass to the shack, but more than a handful had managed to escape. Hopefully the other Aurors and Order members were having better luck. They needed to put a stop to this, and quickly.
He glanced around the field, wincing at the body count. The Death Eaters had gotten to a large number of Muggles before the first of the Aurors and Order had arrived, and over the past hour or so the body count had only climbed. Cormac had done his best to get Muggles to safety, but there was only so much he could do when anyone with a wand was considered an enemy to the terrified Muggles.
From the corner of his eye he watched in horror as a particularly evil Death Eater killed child after child, but there was nothing he could do. There were too many people and Death Eaters in his way. He slowly worked his way across the field, intent on taking out the child killer anyway he could. He was nearly there when he saw Lee Jordan--at least he thought it was Jordan from the hair--attack the Death Eater.
He didn't stop his approach, he didn't know if Jordan was at all skilled in dueling, but at the very least he knew the man wasn't experienced in battle. And Cormac knew this particular Death Eater was a nasty son of a bitch who had alluded capture for years. Not this time, not if he could help it.
He was nearly there when Jordan sent the Death Eater to the ground, but knew a little thing like that would stop the man. He called out a warning just before the bone crushing curse reached it's mark, but hadn't anticipated that when Jordan dived out of the way, the spell would be heading in his own direction. He managed to roll, but the edge of the curse struck his foot, and he screamed in pain as the bones in his foot were crushed.
"Fuck," he shouted, panting as he dragged himself to his feet, balancing his weight on his good leg. He managed to get off a volley of burning and stinging hexes, even as the pain threatened to overwhelm.
