Susan had been working on the Muggle police detail along with Cass and a few other aurors. It seemed like it was going to be a simple assignment, and to be perfectly honest, she was looking forward to going back home and sleeping. She was worried about Cass - all the life seemed to have gone from him, and he was truly not himself.
But she knew what had gone on between him and Percy, but knew she'd be there for him should he need her. That's what friends were for.
As they neared dawn, the crowd was getting restless, all these new aged hippies and fringe dwelling neo-pagans were truly harmless, if not helpless against the threat of death eaters.
She should have known it was too good to be true at the first scream. A muggle exploded over the crowd as another was left hanging. Grisly indeed, but all too reminiscent of the Quidditch World Cup. Death Eaters.
Even as she raced forward, her wand at the ready, the familiar dark robes of Death Eaters were seen mingling with the rest of the crowd. Magic was heavy in the air as curses started to fly. Her own wand was pointed at the nearest Death Eater, a slightly wonky Expelliarmus failing to actually dislodge his wand.
