She smiled at Guilian, feeling as if each thing he said opened up some new door about his personality. He was acting suave and adult, but really, had a child-like side similar to Gabrielle's. She liked it, as it showed both playfulness and vulnerability.
Her tone, even in French, became staunch. "Well, your father needs to understand that you are going to be who you want to be. There is nothing wrong with wishing success and happiness for yourself! It is not right that he made you feel sad over it!!" Guilian seemed to have very heavy-handed parents. Money did tend to make people stuffy, even selfish; her own ancestors were fine examples. In her large blue eyes settled pity.
She was glad to see him return his gaze to her, where he appeared happier. "I am sure that your business will be wonderful, and he will see it and be so proud of you!" Of course, Gabrielle was thinking in terms of contracts and negotiations and such- nothing of the dark magic that secretly resided in Guilian Montague. "I will gladly be a very vocal client, telling everyone about the effectiveness of your services!" She smiled, determined to help, and missing entirely how many ways her statement could be taken.
The blonde was honored to be thanked in such a kind way. "Merci, Gulie," she said, pulling the nickname out of nowhere. It sounded like a girl's name, and Gabrielle giggled brightly, not hesitating to put her small arms around his waist. She gave him an encouraging squeeze. "I am most glad to have helped!" She stayed there for a moment before adding, "As for life's darknesses... I guess be strong, surround yourself with the right people, and do not look back."
In the context of Guilian, she had no idea how deeply she was truly speaking.
