Guilian's presence intrigued Gabrielle, because like the champagne, he was like nothing she had met before. Something hung about him; it was invisible, but it carried weight, and she could feel it, heavy in the air. Her nearness seemed to drive him to ignore it, though, so she gave it little thought.
'Student' did not seem the correct word, and Gabrielle gladly explained herself. "Actually, I am a teacher!" she clarified with pride. "I educate the children at a primary school with my sister Fleur, and I use music as my primary and favorite tool. Yes, I am a singer, and it is my true passion. I actually came to London to do some recordings at Soho Studios." Every time she mentioned it, it made her happier.
"Oh, I think Antonin would be a bit startled if I took matters into my own hands like that and sang here," she said, though the notion made her heart quicken. Trying to shake it off, she said, "You could always, ehm, be one of my first buyers..."
Suddenly, the music heard around them seemed unpleasant next to what she knew she could do. She had to save it, though... save it for her time at Soho. This stranger's opinion didn't have to matter, but he was looking at her in a way that was hard to dismiss.
