Dennis was taking a stroll. The nights were shorter now that summer was upon them. The solstice was soon, and thankfully soon the nights would start to get shorter.
Hanging around the outskirts of Hogsmeade, he pondered the idea of having a bit of a snack. He was hungry, and if he didn't get a bite or two, he might go and annoy Orla and see if she had any of her synthetic blood. Not that he didn't want the thrill of a victim or two - it's just that time was against him on these shorter evenings.
He sensed someone coming closer, as he hung by in the woods. Standing completely still, he waited, watching as the young woman came into view. She was totally oblivious to him, or even to any impending sense of danger that might be lurking.
He recognised Luna fairly easily, smirking as she hummed a little tune as she collected the plant.
"They say it's dangerous to be out alone so late," he said as he came up behind her, waiting for that jump of her heartbeat as he would hear the rush of her blood pumping through her veins.
