Well that was a disappointment. He would have wanted to be watched last night - then it would have been clear the break-up wasn't his fault. Or well his wish at least. As much as he'd tried to be brave he'd not been able not to beg forgiveness. It was strange almost - why did you beg forgiveness when you knew there was none to be given?
"Well then it's up to you to make sure he knows that the break-up was not my idea, nor my wish or my doing," he said, though the last was a blatant lie. Not that Miles would know that, he was a good enough liar and he'd lied to Miles as long as he'd known him. Besides, there was no lie in the state he was in, or the pain he was feeling.
In the end of the day he wanted Percy back. It was almost a relief that it would be impossible.
"You don't have to worry him, I will still report what I know," he said, though even Rodolphus would know this meant he'd know less. The thought of spying on Percy however was just to repulsive to even consider. Even with his mother trapped as she was. He wondered how hard Miles had been trying to look for his mother, if he'd even given it a thought. If he found out differently when this was all over, he'd not hesitate to hex him or throw him in jail.
