Gabrielle recalled that the decree DID, in fact, mention those of part dark origin, which included the Delacours... but Dolohov was right in the sense that part dark creature did not make a whole dark creature; that was just math. Besides, Veelas weren't DARK; they positively glowed, and brought happiness to men! ...Well, temptation and distraction and arousal, but that was happiness in a form, wasn't it? ...When the men could handle it and did not do anything destructive or foolish in the name of some shiny blonde... She shook her head. Every time she overthought her blood, Umbridge started making a bit of sense, and that was absurd. In the end, perhaps she did have some unconventional powers, but she refused to be jailed or taken from the children, and that was that.
"Contact me whenever you are ready to see me," she requested. She did not mean to make it Antonin's job, but she did not know quite yet how to send messages that would not be intercepted.
The idea of the casino made her feel rebellious, for some reason, and she wanted to go. "If you gave me your card, I promise to guard it with my life," she said in a tone that was overly reverent. "Um... does it matter that I am only 20?" That worried her, as she didn't really know the rules. As for The Plaza, the concept made her tremendously happy; surely it would be reminiscent of the privileged life she was used to... not that she needed luxury, but a Delacour deserved certain things.
His suggestion of accompaniment took her off-guard, and she visibly twitched before spitting out the truth. "Seeing as you are doing so much for me, you are welcome to be there. I could not say no to someone showing me such generosity. Still, and I hope you understand, but I am trying to discover some form of independence for myself, and the recordings and Casino visits and things I would prefer to do alone." Really she was only trying to separate herself from Fleur, but she did not want to leech onto other people, either. She quickly stumbled to be more polite and accommodating about it. "I would not mind, though, doing some shopping with your pretty wife, or coming home at night to someone with incredible stories like yours."
She shrugged, not sure what else to say, still surprised at Antonin's character in-general. "Eet eez your choice."
