Guilian watched Rabastan now with a reverent look. He knew exactly what he'd been going through, and knowing that the darkness called to someone else was a relief. He finally allowed himself a breath, glad for the fact that he would be able to function again. Of course, he wasn't thinking now about the fact that it was the same man that had put him on the path to place him where he is now. He'd agreed, and got in much deeper than he'd anticipated.
Rabastan spoke as if he were a student already, and hearing him speak of his potential made him sit up. Had the dark magic spoken to him too? Told Rabastan the same thing it had been telling him - that he could be great?
He didn't quite smile, but the creases at the corners of his mouth seemed less severe, and the look in his eyes sparkled just a little at the thought he could get past this now. "Yes, that's what I want - to be able to use it when I need to, and not let it control me." He hated the thought of weakness of any sort, and admitting that the magic was controlling him was something he was having trouble admitting.
The smile given by Rabastan was genuine - Guilian saw that - and he nodded, raising his own glass. But he was surprised at the offer to start immediately. Of course that would make sense - he didn't want to wait days or weeks - the magic was making him itch more and more each day.
"Right away?" he asked, more to himself, but seeing the sense of it as he finished his own drink. Taking a deep breath and letting his hands rest on his thighs, he looked expectantly. "I'd really like to get a handle on this now," he admitted, giving Rabastan an expectant look and trying not to look over eager.
