Rab listened and watched, seeing the honesty in Guilian. He saw glimpses of himself from long ago in those eyes, and he knew he could shape Guilian into a force to be reckoned with for years to come.
"I do understand," he said honestly, "It is a matter if letting certain things in and other things out. But in time, with proper training, I can help you control these urges and embrace what you really want. And... you will be able to control that power... bend it to your will... while regaining a sense of what and who you are." He leaned forward. "Is that what you want, Guilian? You need to be sure. Because once started, you have to stay the course. There is no going into this half-arsed or giving up. You must see it through."
He leaned back and took a long pull of his drink. "So... do you want me to guide you, Guilian?" he asked, waiting patiently. He could wait as long as it took for the answer.
