Dennis was just waking up, stretching the bones in his neck (and hearing a most satisfying cracking sound as he shifted them back into place after a day's sleep).
It had been... well, months, since he'd last received an owl, so when the animal came in, hooting indignantly before dropping a note in his lap. He was intrigued, but then let out a low laugh at the letter.
How could he resist such a summons? Truly, an invitation to walk straight into the middle of Hogsmeade. Wouldn't his brother like to know that. The thought of paying his big brother a little visit did cross his mind, but Orla's note kept him distracted. Thoughts on his palate made him hungry, and thinking of food.
He found a quill and parchment, scrawling out a notice before sending it back with the owl.
Orla,
Now how can I resist such a friendly invitation? Short of begging me to bite that pretty neck of yours, I would normally pass up such a request. I know the residents of Hogsmeade would be thrilled to know I'm there, and if you do happen to tell any of them I'm on my way, I'll be sinking my fangs into that neck of yours.
In other words, I'll be there after dinner. Don't worry, I wouldn't dare think to visit on an empty stomach.
