Miles let his eyes widen as he just realised he'd fucking outed his mate to a bloody auror. "Well fuck." He just sighed, running his hand over his hair and realising they had all put themselves into a great mess. His look mirrored Cass' and somehow he knew that if it boiled down to it, Cass would choose to out him before soemone he'd been claiming was his own 'cousin' all his life.
"Don't worry, your cousin won't hear it from me unless you choose to tell the world about him." He was starting to feel Cass' anger himself, but was relieved when Cass stood, and said he had to go.
Miles followed suit, nodding. As he walked him to the door, he tentatively put a hand on Cass' shoulder, surprised when he turned to ask one final question. "Ahh, I guess next week - give you time to sift through what you know, pass on what is supposedly important." Miles shrugged. He really didn't want to know.
He felt bad enough as it were, but he felt he had to at least do... something. "Look, wait. Before you go..."
"I'll try to see if I can locate your mother, and check to see if she's all right. If I can, is there anything you'd like me to tell her?" It was dangerous enough, and he had some idea of where she was likely to be held, but he just had to make the offer.
