Rodolphus just laughed at her pathetic little display of denial. He merely waved the words aside. "Believe what you will, my dear, although it is rather perplexing then, when you send off correspondence to your beloved son, and signing it as his dear mother." He produced the letter from his pocket, smirking as he read a few choice passages back to her.
"Oh I think you know exactly what's going on my dear. Of course, if you persist in lying to me, I might just tire of you sooner, and dispose of you. I could still try and persuade Cassius to do my bidding, but I find people are far more... malleable when you have something that is near, and dear to them."
