Verity smiled when he nodded and nearly leaned her forehead on his but refrained. "I think we need to talk to him before we go through with it," she said quietly. Right now, Marlowe was her first priority. He was here, alive, with feelings and comprehension and they had made a conscious decision to take care of him.
She cocked her head slightly, looking at him a little confused at his seemingly random confession of love. "I love you, too. And I've never let you force me into anything," she teased, smiling. But as he continued, cupping her face she closed her eyes and enjoyed being with him. She nodded in agreement.
Verity didn't know how to tell him that she wasn't eager to have children as she considered Marlowe their true child even if he wasn't biologically. She knew what he meant but- well... Verity had a lot of fears about motherhood.
