The leaves tasted sweet as she put them in her mouth, but it was the almost immediate effect, and not their taste, that made Millicent gasp. Almost instantly the world became utterly beautiful, colours more potent, contours softer. Her body felt heavy, warm, tingling and for some reason she felt like giggling even as she leant back on the sofa.
The soft sound of laughter filled the room as Orla asked her if it was good. She only nodded, but the movement almost made the world spin - only in a good, fun way.
'Much better,' she answered, dazed, but fully aware of Orla's fingers in her hair. In the back of her mind a small voice told her this was the time to leave, yet her body wouldn't move. 'I have a Justin,' she said, still giggling. It was impossible not to when the world was so wonderful.
